Hello and welcome to Warrington Labour’s Substack. Substack is a free-forever online newsletter service, and our goal in using it is to communicate better with the people of Warrington.
We want to show you how your Labour Council is working for you — the good things we’ve accomplished at a local level, how we’re trying to defend Warrington from a decade of unprecedented government cuts, and how we’re working to build a better future for our town.
We want to highlight good ideas, and give a platform to ordinary members, Councillors and community leaders to talk about what they’re up to, and their vision for Warrington.
We also want to use this website to explain our actions, and respond to criticisms of the Council made by some people in our town.
Some of them are based on differences in opinion, and some of them may be correct! We’re always trying to do better and learn from our mistakes. Some, however, are based on falsehood or mistruth, and can directly damage our town and its people.
An example in this category is the hysteria over Warrington’s investment programme. We’ll be writing about this, and plenty more, in due course.
